- I selected the three pieces because they immediately caught my eye. I included "The Scream" because it is a very well known piece and is also a self portrait. The other self portrait of Edvard, I was fascinated by the use of color and thought it would be good to include it as well. The portrait of the woman, I was enchanted by, I really liked it and it's mysterious charm.
- I found pencil and paper to be the most efficient and straight forward medium to create my self portrait.
- I really wasn't sure how I was going to portray myself, but I easily overcame that and created my self portrait.
- It shows me in a box with a melancholy face. I think it suits me well.
- I think the use of shape and line definitely apply to this work. I have curly hair, and that needed to be emulated within my self portrait. I am not very good at creating a facial structure but I tried my best to recreate my face and jawline. There is also a lot of space within the piece, which is needed to create a focal point which is my self portrait.
- Yes, I really liked searching for the different pieces to source my inspiration from. I also enjoyed trying to draw myself.
- Overall, I must be honest I am not a great artist and therefore my portrait is rather rudimentary. However, I had a good time and learned a lot about what is important and what to keep in mind when creating a self portrait
